After acquiring a new property, the owner wanted to replace the existing manual non-functional entry gate
The opening was only about ten feet wide, less than the 16 foot clear access now required by the fire district.
The owner wanted an automated gate with both phone and Internet controls. The project required removing the existing pilasters, expanding the opening. New pilasters were build. A custom 17 wide clear opening gate was designed and built. It was painted and galvanized for ease of maintenance.
Installation included building tracks for the gate, installing a high-traffic motor, an entry area phone pad, and connection to the phone and Internet connections over 100 feet away at the home. A utility trench was dug to carry both the gate control line as well as new high voltage circuits for the gate and electrical outlets along the drive and at the gate.
This was a turnkey installation by Pro-Gates which designed and installed the whole system.
The owner is doing extensive remodeling so widening and repaving the driveway will be done after heavy truck traffic is over. In the meantime, temporary gate passage tracks , sensors and controls allows for the gate to be completely functional as well as being ready for future changes once the driveway has been widened and repaved. The owner also plans to add designer lamps on the pilasters. Wiring is already in place.
